Just when you thought you had everything in the Deftones world figured out, you see something a little left of center. Norma Jean, christian metalcore princes, were recently joined by Chino of the Deftones in the studio to help work on their latest album. Normally things like this just kind of fade away and people pass it off as rumors or something, but here’s video evidence of Chino in the studio helping Norma Jean with their latest studio effort. Looks like someone’s got a soft spot for christian metalcore.

Metallica Live Videos Online Now
June 19th, 2008 · No Comments
How about some recent Metallica concert footage? Do they still have it? Are they still good? Of course! The official headbangers ball blog has full videos of their latest concert over seas, but there is only one catch. That being, they don’t play anything off the new album. That’s not so bad right? As long as they aren’t trying to win people over to their St. Anger disc, which isn’t exactly the brightest moment for the Metallica crew. You can check out that whole thing via Headbangers Ball Blog.

Chinese Democracy Available Now
June 18th, 2008 · No Comments
In what was the fastest leak in centuries, the new Guns N’ Roses album leaked today onto the internet. Well, at least 9 tracks were leaked, and they were good from what people are saying. However, by the time I got the news, and was able to confirm the source, the tracks were taken down and now one blogger is famous.
Were the tracks real?
Who has them? Where are they?
All signs point towards Antiquiet.com who boasted that they have the tracks, but are now talking to the people that represent GNR! As a wrestling fan, I think this is …

Bad Religion Commercial Still Trying Hard
June 18th, 2008 · No Comments
I previously stated that Bad Religion is trying too hard, and stand behind my word. Here’s a commercial for the upcoming deluxe edition of their last effort, and even though these guys are trying really hard to sell physical copies of their music, I must commend them…because a lot of bands just complain about low sales, but Bad Religion is putting their best foot forward. You decide, here’s a video:

Nine Inch Nails Charges For Music
June 17th, 2008 · No Comments
Nine Inch Nails, Trent Reznor really, just keeps sending out free stuff, and then following up with limited edition, signed and numbered albums for those that want a hard copy. This is genius, and is similar to what Bad Religion is doing, but I still think he’s trying too hard.
According to Pitchfork:
In the U.S., Canada, and parts of Japan, Trent will roll out an individually numbered, limited edition version of The Slip on CD. Each of the 200,000 discs arrives with a DVD of the band rehearsing Slip tracks live, plus a 24- -page booklet and stickers. (Stickers!) The set …

Head of Korn Fame Solo Effort
June 17th, 2008 · No Comments
If you’re a fan of Korn, you’ll know exactly what happened with Brian “Head” Welch. He quit the band, got saved, turned his life around and wrote a tell all book about it. Well, he’s back in the music world, and his first single is circulating through rock radio, and is now on the official Head myspace page. There is one track you can listen to, and it’s not really that great. It sounds like a Korn wannabe, but it’s essentially Korn…because it’s Head, it’s weird.
The song’s lyrics focus on drinking, and the consequences of over using Alcohol, and …

Word on the street is that, Universal Music and Last.fm have signed a music video deal. That’s right, the site that tracks the music that you are listening to on your computer has been finding ways to make a few bucks here and there, and now they have found a great way.

Rolling Stone Hates Pete Wentz
June 17th, 2008 · No Comments
Rolling Stone Magazine hasn’t been relevant to me in a long time. But they are getting some major press today, for dissing a new show that premiered recently on MTV. The show entitled, “FNMTV” is the brainchild of Pete Wentz, and apparently it completely bombed with critics. Rolling Stone Online has clips of the show, proving that things aren’t really that good over at the MTV zone.
I do recall watching an episode of Rob & Big, and the commercials for this show made it seem like the reality television channel was actually turning over a new leaf and going back …

Metallica Calls Album Something Stupid
June 16th, 2008 · No Comments
I don’t need to say crap about this one, the name says it all. Metallica unleashed the name of their album, and it’s not that good. The new Metallica album that will be released this September, is going to be called “Death Magnetic”. Lame.
