Just when you thought you had everything in the Deftones world figured out, you see something a little left of center. Norma Jean, christian metalcore princes, were recently joined by Chino of the Deftones in the studio to help work on their latest album. Normally things like this just kind of fade away and people pass it off as rumors or something, but here’s video evidence of Chino in the studio helping Norma Jean with their latest studio effort. Looks like someone’s got a soft spot for christian metalcore.

Metallica Live Videos Online Now
June 19th, 2008 · No Comments
How about some recent Metallica concert footage? Do they still have it? Are they still good? Of course! The official headbangers ball blog has full videos of their latest concert over seas, but there is only one catch. That being, they don’t play anything off the new album. That’s not so bad right? As long as they aren’t trying to win people over to their St. Anger disc, which isn’t exactly the brightest moment for the Metallica crew. You can check out that whole thing via Headbangers Ball Blog.

June 18th, 2008 · No Comments
The Clash has been gone for a long time, and few people that I personally know even heard The Mascalero’s stuff, but things are set to change very soon. The release date for the Joe Strummer documentary is July 8, 2008. For those of you that missed it when it came out, you’re going to be in for a treat. Not since “About a Son” have music fans been treated to such a cool premise, the life and times of the Clash front man.
Here is the trailer for “The Future Is Unwritten”:

Here’s the music video for Pelican’s “Dead Between The Walls”. Who knew that progressive metal infused rock could sound so good? Maybe if MTV would play more videos, I would have seen this one a lot sooner.

Bad Religion Commercial Still Trying Hard
June 18th, 2008 · No Comments
I previously stated that Bad Religion is trying too hard, and stand behind my word. Here’s a commercial for the upcoming deluxe edition of their last effort, and even though these guys are trying really hard to sell physical copies of their music, I must commend them…because a lot of bands just complain about low sales, but Bad Religion is putting their best foot forward. You decide, here’s a video:

Word on the street is that, Universal Music and Last.fm have signed a music video deal. That’s right, the site that tracks the music that you are listening to on your computer has been finding ways to make a few bucks here and there, and now they have found a great way.
They will now stream music videos through their Last.fm on demand streaming services, which currently just has music. These videos will be ad supported and Universal will be taking a percentage of all revenue that goes through. That’s right, Universal will be getting their money’s worth, and you’ll have …

Angels and Airwaves Breathe Video
June 12th, 2008 · No Comments
Angels and Airwaves have released their latest video entitled Breathe, to the masses. However, it’s not on youtube as of this writing, but you can find it online on many alternative services.
Of course, these alternative services are running ads right in the frame of the video, creating some really poor viewing quality. But that’s ok, the record labels aren’t making money and this sort of technique will make the sites a few bucks and blah…blah…blah.
Check out the video for Blink Lite…er…I mean Angels and Airwaves via Buzznet.com.

Anthrax recently started playing live shows with their new singer, and news coming out from these shows is that the new singer has major chops. Thanks to the power of the internet, we have three new tracks featuring Dan on vocals, and they aren’t all that bad. This is definitely going to excite long time fans of Anthrax. For those videos …
